Intro
Mit der NEX-Serie meldete sich REVONEXT im Jahr 2019 zurück. Momentan umfasst die Serie einen Dual-Hybriden (NEX 202) und eine Quadttreiber-Konfiguration (NEX 602). Der NEX 202 besitzt einen dynamischen und einen BA-Treiber und bedient den überrannten 50 € Bereich. Ob die neue Serie mit der erfolgreichen QT-Serie mithalten kann, oder gar ein Update darstellt gilt es heraus zu finden.
Handling
Verpackung und deren Inhalt macht einen soliden Eindruck. Annehmbares Kabel, Silikon-, sowie Foamtips und ein Stofftäschchen sind sinnvoll gewählte Accessoires.
Der Hörer an sich ist aus Metall gefertigt und trägt sich, abgesehen von seiner angehnehmen Größe sehr gut.
Obwohl er scheinbar eine halb offene Bauweise aufweist (Faceplate), dringt deutlich weniger Musik nach außen als erwartet. Die Isolation nach innen ist ebenso sehr gut.
REVONEXT beweist mit der NEX-Serie, dass sie in der Lage sind ein eigenständiges Design zu entwickeln, welches nicht bei anderen Marken abgeschaut wurde.
Ich finde jedoch, dass das der 2-Pin-Konnektor etwas zu tief ins Gehäuse eingelassen wurde, was das Verwenden von Third-Party-Kabeln erschwert.
Sound
Der NEX 202 liefert den gewohnten REVONEXT-Sound. Allerdings kann er mich nicht vollends überzeugen.
Der Bass ist eigentlich das Highlight des NEX 202. Er ist straff, punchig, tiefspielend und texturiert.
Er trägt weder zu dick auf, noch ist er scheu, obwohl er einen merh als ordentlichen Impakt hat. Genau richtig für meinen Geschmack, allerdings stehlen ihm die Höhen negativ die Show. Er schafft es trotz der Anhebung, alles kontrolliert wieder zu geben und dabei sauber und flott zu bleiben.
Die Mitten von REVONEXT sind meistens deren Aushängeschild. Auch beim NEX 202 sind sie gut, allerdings schaffen sie es nicht gegen die Höhen anzukämpfen. Durch die starke Präsenz dessen, werden die Mitten unnötig aufgehellt und können ihr Potenzial nur bei ruhigeren Stücken, ohne Schlagzeug, oder höhenlastigen Instrumenten voll ausschöpfen. Sibilanten werden zwar betont, aber das ist tolerierbar. Männerstimmen sind angenehmer zu hören, als Frauenstimmen, das dieser zu energisch daher kommen.
Die Höhen machen mir die meisten Probleme. Sie sind für meinen Geschmack zu scharf und machen es mir schwer mich auf die Fülle der bereit gestellten Details zu konzentrieren. Für Höhenunempfindliche und Trebleheads eventuell genau das richtige. Für viele allerdings eher ermüdend und unangenehm. Man gewöhnt sich auf Dauer an viesles, aber für mich sind die Höhen etwas drüber. Das geht eher in Richtung unnatürliche Härte, als analytischen Hörgenuss.
Sehr gut gefällt mir allerdings die Räumlichkeit. Positiv kann man den Höhen andichten, dass sie mit ihrer Härte eine schärfere Abgrenzung und damit klarere Definition und Separation schaffen, aber dann muss man ihnen schon sehr wohlgesonnen sein.
Outro
Ich will nicht zu unfair dem NEX 202 gegenüber sein. Technisch hat er einiges auf dem Kasten, nur ist die helle Signatur nicht ganz so mein Fall. Mit der Zeit gewöhnt man sich besser dran und kann sich besser auf den starken Bass, sowie die Mitten besinnen. Für mich gibt es aber in dem Preissegment besseres, auch wenn Verarbeitung und Tragekomfort zum oberen Drittel in der Klasse zählt.

With the NEX series, REVONEXT returned in 2019. Currently, the series includes a dual hybrid (NEX 202) and a quad driver configuration (NEX 602). Whether the new series can keep up with the successful QT series, or even represent an update, remains to be found out.
Handling
Packaging and its contents make a solid impression. Acceptable cable, silicone and foam tips and a fabric bag are useful accessories.
The handset itself is made of metal and is very comfortable to wear, apart from its pleasant size.
Although it apparently has a half-open construction (faceplate), considerably less music gets out than expected. The insulation to the inside is also very good.
REVONEXT proves with the NEX-series that they are able to create an independent design that has not been copied by other brands.
However, I find that the 2-pin connector is a bit too deep in the case, which makes it difficult to use third party cables.
Sound
The NEX 202 delivers the familiar REVONEXT sound. However, it can not completely convince me.
The bass is actually the highlight of the NEX 202, it is tight, punchy, deep and textured.
It's neither too thick nor shy, although it has a more than decent impact. It's just right for my taste, but the treble negative steals the show. He manages to give everything back in a controlled way and to stay clean and snappy.
The mids of REVONEXT are mostly their figurehead. They are also good on the NEX 202, but they don't manage to fight the highs. Due to the strong presence of this, the mids are unnecessarily brightened and can only reach their full potential on quieter tracks, without drums, or instruments that are heavy on treble. Sibilants are emphasized, but this is tolerable. Male voices are more pleasant to hear than female voices, which are too energetic.
The trebles cause me the most problems. They are too sharp for my taste and make it difficult for me to concentrate on the fullness of the details provided. For trebleheads and those who are not sensitive to treble, this might be just the right thing. For many however rather tiring and unpleasant. You get used to viesles in the long run, but for me the trebles are a bit over the top. That goes rather in the direction of unnatural hardness, than analytical listening pleasure.
But I like the spatiality very much. On the positive side, one can say that the trebles create a sharper demarcation with their hardness and thus clearer definition and separation, but then you have to be very sympathetic to them.
Outro
I don't want to be too unfair to NEX 202. Technically, it's got a lot going for it, only the bright signature is not quite my cup of tea. After a while you get used to it and can better concentrate on the strong bass and the midrange. For me, there is better in the price segment, even if workmanship and comfort are in the upper third of the class.
