Intro
Die Kopfhörermagier, die Musik brennen lassen können, sind zurück.
Dass man bei BLON für wenig Geld gute Kopfhörer bekommen kann, mit mal mehr, mal weniger Komfortproblemen ist bekannt und der BL-01 legt die Budgetmesslatte mit seinen knapp 20 € noch einmal etwas höher.
Allerdings erfindet er das Rad nicht neu und so kann man von dem dynamischen Treiber einen ähnlichen Klang wie beim BL-03 erwarten, wobei der BL-01 Frische in die Signatur bringt und etwas mehr Auflösung suggeriert.
Handling
When DREAMS come true. Scheinbar hat man sich dazu entschlossen, von BELIEF & OPPOTY Abstand zu nehmen. Heißt es beim BL-03, BL-05 & BL-05s unter anderem noch: NEVERGIVEUP, LETMUSICBURN und MUSIC AND DRIAMS, so begnügt man sich beim BL-01 mit dem „griffigen“ Slogan: MUSIC AND DREAMS LET MUSIC BURN. Diesmal zumindest in richtiger Schreibweise. Was genau damit angedeutet werden soll, muss wohl Konfuzius selbst gefragt werden.
Ergonomie und BLON sind meist nicht die besten Freunde. Die ausschließliche Verwendung von Metall bei ihren neueren IEMs, ist aufgrund des Gewichts und der Form sicherlich immer etwas Geschmackssache, aber vermittelt zumindest einen robusten und auch wertigen Eindruck. Gerade beim BL-03 sind aber die Schallrohre zu kurz geraten, wodurch das Gewicht dann doch eine entscheidende Rolle spielt, da es den Sitz beeinträchtigen kann. Besser gelungen ist es beim BL-05(s), wo man allerdings immer noch nicht von einer wirklichen Ergonomie sprechen kann, da das Design im Vordergrund steht. Ähnlich verhält es sich auch beim BL-01. Die Form erinnert etwas an eine Mango und ob man eine Mango als sonderlich ergonomisch bezeichnen möchte, ist jedem selbst überlassen.
Durch meine Ohrgröße habe ich meist keine sonderlichen Probleme und so sitzt auch der BL-01 ganz gut, aber für kleine Ohren könnte er zu klobig und unbequem sein, da der Schwerpunkt auch etwas zu weit oben liegt und nicht bei den Schallöffnungen. Die Spitze vor der Schallöffnung kann unangenehm ans Ohr drücken und hätte gerne abgerundet werden können, da diese sicherlich keine klangliche Rolle spielt.
Der Lieferumfang unterscheidet sich bis auf eine etwas platzsparende Verpackung nicht von den anderen genannten Modellen. Wir erhalten einen Satz an Silikontipps und ein Leinensäckchen zur Aufbewahrung. Das Kabel ist fummelig und rein Funktional zu begrauchen.
Die Isolation ist recht tippahängig und steht damit im direkten Zusammenhang mit der erreichten Abdichtung, aber das Gehäuse schluckt auch ungeachtet dessen nicht sonderlich viel vom Außenlärm, wodurch dies keine Stärke des BL-01 darstellt.
Klang
Im Gegensatz zum BL-03 besitzt der BL-01 die ausgeprägtere V-Signatur und klingt so etwas lebendiger und frischer. Allerdings sind die Mitten dadurch leicht dünner und nicht ganz so körperlich.
Der Bass weist eine ähnliche Quantität zum BL-03 auf, allerdings würde ich ihn etwas tighter bezeichnen und linearer. Ihm fehlt ein bisschen dieser organische Kick des BL-03, wirkt allerdings sauberer und mehr auf dem Punkt. Ich würde ihn jedoch kein Bassheadlevel attestieren. Dennoch kann er ordentlich zuschlagen, wenn es erforderlich ist, bleibt dabei aber stets kontrolliert. Für solch ein Budget-IEM eine sehr anständige Leistung.
Die Mitten sind im Vergleich zum BL-03 etwas mehr zurückgenommen, was sie etwas dünner erscheinen lässt, aber auch etwas transparenter, da die Mitten des BL-03 zwar angenehm körperlich sind, aber auch mal etwas schwammig werden können bzw. zu viel Volumen besitzen. Dazu haben die Mitten nach oben im Verhältnis mehr Pegel, was ihnen auch mehr Offenheit und Klarheit verleiht. Stimmen haben ein gutes Timbre, allerdings fehlt ihnen für meinen Geschmack teilweise die Emotion.
Die Höhen haben eine gute Erweiterung, auch wenn der BL-01 sicherlich kein Detailfeuerwerk abfeuert und auch in der Auflösung eher im Mittelfeld liegt. Allerdings sind die Höhen sehr stimmig und fügen sich in das tonale Gesamtbild gut ein. Mir gefällt die Offenheit und sie neigen nie zu unangenehmen Peaks oder Sibilantenbetonung. Das macht die Höhen absolut schmerzfrei und den BL-01 auch über Stunden hörbar.
Durch die erhöhe Betonung der oberen/unteren Mitten bzw. durch dir V-Signaur wirkt der BL-01 etwas aufgeräumter als der BL-03 und offener, was sich in der Bühnenausdehnung widerspiegelt. Man hat ein erweitertes Gefühl der Weite und auch die Separation ist gut. Somit liegt der BL-01 hier etwas vor dem BL-03, der im Gegenzug aber mehr Intimität und auch Natürlichkeit mitbringt.
Outro
Gute Budget-IEMs gibt es mittlerweile wie Sand am Meer und nur wenige schaffen es sich Gegenüber der Masse anzuheben. Der BL-01 gehört nicht zwingend dazu. Er ist für das, was er ist, ein sehr guter Vertreter und zu dem Preis sicherlich eine Empfehlung, allerdings sollte man sich bewusst sein, dass man bei der Suche nach einem Upgrade zum BL-03, vielleicht etwas tiefer in die Tasche greifen sollte (was sicherlich auf für den BL-03 spricht), um nicht den nächsten Sidegrade zu erhalten und auf der Stelle zu treten. Dennoch unterscheiden sich beide genug, um eine Daseinsberechtigung des BL-01 zu rechtfertigen. Ein sehr ausgewogener Budget-IEM, der zum angenehmen Musikhören einlädt, aber dem es etwas an Inspiration fehlt und mehr auf Sicherheit setzt, was nichts Schlechtes ist.

The headphone magicians who can make music burn are back.
It is well known that you can get good headphones from BLON for little money, with sometimes more, sometimes less comfort problems, and the BL-01 raises the budget bar a bit higher with its almost 20 €.
However, it doesn't reinvent the wheel and so you can expect a similar sound from the dynamic driver to the BL-03, with the BL-01 bringing freshness to the signature and suggesting a bit more resolution.
Handling
When DREAMS come true. Apparently one has decided to take distance from BELIEF & OPPOTY. While with BL-03, BL-05 & BL-05s it is still called: NEVERGIVEUP, LETMUSICBURN and MUSIC AND DRIAMS, the BL-01 is content with the "catchy" slogan: MUSIC AND DREAMS LET MUSIC BURN. This time at least in the correct spelling. What exactly is meant to be implied by this must probably be asked to Confucius himself.
Ergonomics and BLON are usually not the best of friends. The exclusive use of metal in their newer IEMs, is certainly always a matter of taste due to the weight and shape, but at least gives a robust and also valuable impression. Especially with the BL-03, however, the sound tubes are too short, whereby the weight then plays a decisive role, as it can affect the fit. The BL-05(s) does a better job, but you still can't really talk about ergonomics, since the design is the main focus. The shape of the BL-01 is somewhat reminiscent of a mango, and whether you want to call a mango particularly ergonomic is up to you.
By my ear size I usually have no particular problems and so the BL-01 also sits quite well, but for small ears it could be too clunky and uncomfortable, because the center of gravity is also a little too far up and not at the sound openings. The tip in front of the sound opening can press unpleasantly to the ear and could have been rounded gladly, since this certainly plays no sonic role.
The scope of delivery does not differ from the other models mentioned except for a somewhat space-saving packaging. We get a set of silicone tips and a canvas pouch for storage. The cable is fiddly and purely functional to fumigate.
The isolation is quite tip-dependent and thus directly related to the seal achieved, but regardless, the case doesn't swallow much of the outside noise either, making this not a strength of the BL-01.
Sound
In contrast to the BL-03, the BL-01 has the more pronounced V signature and thus sounds a bit more lively and fresh. However, the mids are slightly thinner as a result and not quite as physical.
The bass exhibits a similar quantity to the BL-03, though I would call it a bit tighter and more linear. It lacks a bit of that organic kick of the BL-03, but seems cleaner and more on point. However, I would not attest him a bass head level. Still, it can pack a punch when it needs to, but always remains controlled. For such a budget IEM, a very decent performance.
The mids are a bit more recessed compared to the BL-03, making them seem a bit thinner, but also a bit more transparent, as the BL-03's mids, while pleasantly physical, can get a bit woolly at times or have too much body. In addition, the mids have more level upwards in proportion, which also gives them more openness and clarity. Voices have a good timbre, though they sometimes lack emotion for my taste.
The treble has a good extension, even though the BL-01 certainly does not fire off any detail fireworks and is also rather in the midfield in terms of resolution. However, the highs are very coherent and fit well into the overall tonal picture. I like the openness and they never tend to unpleasant peaks or sibilant emphasis. This makes the treble absolutely painless and the BL-01 listenable for hours.
The increased emphasis on the upper/lower mids, or rather the V-signaur, makes the BL-01 seem a bit tidier than the BL-03 and more open, which is reflected in the stage extension. One has an extended feeling of width and also the separation is good. Thus, the BL-01 is slightly ahead of the BL-03 here, but in return the BL-03 brings more intimacy and also naturalness.
Outro
Good budget IEMs are now a dime a dozen and only a few manage to stand out from the crowd. The BL-01 is not necessarily one of them. For what it is, it is a very good representative and at the price certainly a recommendation, however, you should be aware that if you are looking for an upgrade to the BL-03, you might want to dig a little deeper into your pocket (which is certainly in favor of the BL-03) to avoid getting the next sidegrade and treading water. Still, both differ enough to justify a raison d'être for the BL-01. A very well-rounded budget IEM that invites pleasant music listening, but lacks a bit of inspiration and relies more on safety, which is not a bad thing.
