Intro
CVJ ist eine neue und frische Marke, welche den Budget-Markt gleich mit drei IEMs erobern will. Die Rede ist vom CSA, CS8 und CSN. Allesamt Hybride und durchaus verheißungsvoll, da CVJ mit ihrem Tuning frischen Wind in die Budget-CHI-FI-Welt bringt. Den Anfang macht der CSA mit einem dynamischen und einem BA-Treiber.
Ich muss CVJ allerdings etwas rügen. Mir ist durchaus klar, dass die junge Firma noch nicht die Erfahrungen hat und auf dem Weg der Selbstfindung ist, aber bitte nicht auf Kosten des Käufers.
Es geht nicht darum so schnell wie möglich IEMs auf den Markt bringen und den Käufer, als Versuchskaninchen zu missbrauchen, sondern sich vorab Rückmeldungen einzuholen und das Produkt falls möglich anzupassen, sodass auch ein finales Produkt herausgebracht werden kann und nicht 3 verschiedene Batche mit allesamt komplett anderen Signaturen, wie beim CSA geschehen.
Da alle Batche von verschiedenen Händlern erhältlich sind/waren, verwirrt dies den Käufer und erschwert dem Rezensenten die Arbeit.
Schwamm drüber, denn aller Anfang ist schwer, aber ich hoffe dass dies ein einmaliger Ausrutscher war, denn die Firma hat Potenzial. Bei dieser Rezension geht es um den 3. und laut Firma um das finale Produkt.
Handling
Der CSA gleicht in seiner Bauform stark dem KZ ZST und trägt sich daher auch genauso gut.
Schlicht und einfach, ohne viel Schnickschnack. So präsentiert sich nicht nur der CSA, sondern auch dessen Zubehör. Das Kabel (2-Pin) ist auf BQEYZ Niveau, was deren Budgetmodelle Betrifft und erfüllt seinen Zweck. Dazu gibt es in Summe 3 Größen an Silikontips und ein kleines Stofftäschchen.
Die aufklappbare Verpackung ist aus Holz, was in dem Preissegment nicht zwingend zu erwarten ist, aber wir reden hier natürlich auch nicht von Mahagoni.
Die Isolation ist durchschnittlich und viel mehr gibt es hier auch nicht zu erwähnen. Alles in allem dem Preis angemessen trifft es ganz gut.
Klang
Der CSA hat eine warme, sanfte und recht lineare Signatur mit einer Bassbetonung, die sich für meinen Geschmack allerdings recht positiv den Klang beeinflusst. Da der Bass nur sehr leicht zu den Mitten abfällt und sogar noch um die 200 kHz ordentlich Pegel aufweist, bekommen wir zwar einen wärmeren und voluminöseren Klang, aber es driftet nicht ins Unnatürliche ab. Der Bass ist ausgewogen und hat auch noch im tieferen Bereich genügend Output. Er könnte etwas kerniger sein, aber besitzt einen soliden Punch und eine moderate Geschwindigkeit. Auch wenn er im Oberbass noch recht präsent ist, klingt er nur in seltenen Fällen etwas aufgebläht.
Auch wenn ich es in den Mitten meist etwas knackiger, klarer und stimmenfokussierter mag, gefallen mir die entspannten, warmherzigen und musikalischen Mitten des CSA sehr gut. Sie laden zum langen Musikhören ein bieten einiges an Details, aber ohne einen damit künstlich zu belästigen. Ausgewogen, rund und dennoch lebendig. Hier kommt mir der Vergleich zum TRI i3 in den Sinn, welcher ähnliche Eigenschaften hat, aber ein wenig transparenter klingt. Stimmen treten weder zu sehr in den Vordergrund, noch fallen sie zurück. Dabei sind sie recht intim und klingen vollmundig mit einem natürlichen Timbre, trotz der etwas wärmeren Abstimmung. Ich würde mir noch etwas mehr Präsenz in den oberen Frequenzen wünschen, aber empfinde die Mitten des CSA als seine Stärke, auch wenn im oberen Bereich manchmal etwas leicht metallisches mitschwingt.
Die Höhen haben nicht die größte Erweiterung und sind sicherlich auch nicht die Detailliertesten, aber tragen zum entspannten Hören bei und stellen genügend Informationen zur Verfügung. Nichts Besonderes, aber sie tauchen nicht ab und öffnen die Bühne in einem recht natürlichen Ausmaß, wohingegen zum Beispiel der KBEAR KS2 diese künstlich erweitert. Peaks und Sibilanten sind Mangelware, quasi abwesend.
Die Bühne eröffnet ein gutes 3D-Bild, die Separation könnte aber noch klarer ausfallen und auch die Verteilung auf verschiedene Ebenen ist recht durchschnittlich.
Outro
Ich habe für den KBEAR KS2 eine Budgetempfehlung (unter 20 €) für 2020 ausgesprochen und dies kann ich mit ruhigem Gewissen auch für den CVJ CSA. Er ist sicherlich nicht so aufregend wie der KS2 mit seiner starken, aber spaßigen V-Signatur, dafür aber homogener, erwachsener, entspannter und runder. Hier kann ich stundenlang Musikhören, ohne Ermüdungserscheinungen und habe trotzdem eine solide Informationsvielfalt, eine natürliche Stimmenwiedergabe und eine ausgewogene Musikalität.
Allerdings muss ich darauf hinweisen, dass man noch einen alten Batch beim Bestellen erwischen könnte. Daher bitte den Verkäufer vorher fragen um welchen es sich handelt. Ich denke aber, dass die alten “Versuche“ aus dem Markt gezogen werden.
Intro
CVJ is a new and fresh brand that wants to conquer the budget market with three IEMs immediately. We are talking about the CSA, CS8 and CSN. All of them are hybrids and quite promising, because CVJ brings a fresh breeze into the budget CHI-FI world with their tuning. The CSA makes the beginning with a dynamic and a BA driver.
I must reprimand CVJ however somewhat. It is quite clear to me that the young company does not have the experiences yet and is on the way of the self-discovery, but please not at expense of the buyer.
It's not about bringing IEMs to market as fast as possible and abusing the buyer as guinea pigs, but to get feedback in advance and to adapt the product if possible, so that a final product can be released and not 3 different batches with completely different signatures, as happened with the CSA.
Since all batches are/have been available from different vendors, this confuses the buyer and makes the reviewer's work more difficult.
Forget about it, because all beginnings are hard, but I hope that this was a unique slip-up, because the company has potential. This review is about the 3rd and according to the company the final product.
Handling
The CSA is very similar in its design to the KZ ZST and is therefore just as comfortable to wear.
Plain and simple, without much frills. Thus not only the CSA presents itself, but also its accessories. The cable (2-pin) is on BQEYZ level, which concerns their budget models and fulfils its purpose. In addition, there are a total of 3 sizes of silicone tips and a small fabric pouch.
The fold-out packaging is made of wood, which is not necessarily to be expected in this price segment, but we are of course not talking about mahogany either.
The isolation is average and there is not much more to mention here. All in all, it is quite good for the price.
Sound
The CSA has a warm, soft and quite linear signature with a bass emphasis, which, for my taste, has a quite positive effect on the sound. Since the bass only drops very slightly to the mids and even still has a decent level around 200 kHz, we get a warmer and more voluminous sound, but it doesn't drift off into the unnatural. The bass is well balanced and has enough output even in the lower frequencies. It could be a bit more pithy, but has a solid punch and moderate speed. Even though it is still quite present in the upper bass, it only sounds a bit bloated in rare cases.
Even though I usually like it a bit crisper, clearer and more vocally focused in the mids, I like the relaxed, warm and musical mids of the CSA very much. They invite you to listen to music for a long time and offer a lot of details, but without bothering you artificially. Balanced, round and yet lively. Here the comparison to the TRI i3 comes to my mind, which has similar characteristics, but sounds a little more transparent. Voices neither come too much to the fore nor do they fall back. They are quite intimate and sound full-bodied with a natural timbre, despite the somewhat warmer tuning. I would like to have a bit more presence in the upper frequencies, but I feel the midrange of the CSA as its strength, even if in the upper range sometimes something slightly metallic resonates.
The highs don't have the greatest extension and are certainly not the most detailed, but contribute to relaxed listening and provide enough information. Nothing special, but they don't dip down and open up the stage in a quite natural way, whereas the KBEAR KS2, for example, artificially expands them. Peaks and sibilants are in short supply, virtually absent.
The stage offers a good 3D image, but the separation could be even clearer and the spreading over different layers is quite average.
Outro
I have made a budget recommendation for 2020 (under 20 €) for the KBEAR KS2 and I can do the same with a clear conscience for the CVJ CSA. It is certainly not as exciting as the KS2 with its strong but fun V-signature, but more homogeneous, more mature, more relaxed and round. Here I can listen to music for hours, without signs of fatigue, and still have a solid variety of information, a natural voice reproduction and a balanced musicality.
However, I must point out that you could still catch an old batch when ordering. So please ask the seller which one it is. But I think that the old "attempts" will be pulled out of the market.

Hier lasse ich vor allem die Durchhörbarkeit einfließen und ob ich ihn Out-Of-The-Box gut hören kann. Das ist natürlich sehr subjektiv und daher nur ein minimaler Abzug, oder Bonus.(-0.1, 0, +0.1)
