Intro

7€ tun nicht weh, aber im Falle des EDX macht es auch nicht wirklich glücklich Geld gespart zu haben. Ein IEM den man nicht wirklich braucht und meines Erachtens besser ein paar Moneten mehr in die Hand nehmen sollte, oder man guckt sich den EZAUDIO D4 mal an.

Handling

Kopfhörer, Kabel, und ein Paar Silikontips. Mehr ist nicht drin, aber auch verständlich bei dem Preis. Das Kabel ist brauchbar, aber nichts besonders. Allerdings kostet das schon mal gut die Hälfte vom EDX im Einkauf. Da kann man sich ausrechnen was wohl de EDX in der Produktion kostet. Das merkt man auch bei der Verarbeitung, wo Unebenheiten und ein größere Spaltmaße auszumachen sind. Mich überrascht ehrlich gesagt die sehr gute Kanalgleichheit in der Frequenzmessung.

Die Isolation ist okay und der Tragekomfort sogar sehr gut.

Sound

Der EDX ist verdammt günstig, das darf man nicht vergessen, aber klanglich darf man auch nicht allzu viel erwarten.

Der Bass ist der Lichtblick des EDX, auch wenn er nicht immer stabil und manchmal etwas dumpf erscheint. Er hat aber einen guten Punch und Durchsetzungsvermögen, ohne die Signatur zu überlagern, oder sich aufzuplustern. Betrachtet man ihn separat, kann man darauf sicherlich einen guten Budget-IEM aufbauen, auch wenn der Bass qualitativ nicht die größten Ansprüche erfüllt.

Die Mitten haben tonal mit die größten Schwankungen. Stimmen und Instrumente fehlt es an Authentizität und sie driften oftmals in Schrillheit ab. Sie klingen einfach nicht richtig und sind weit weg von einem ausgereiften Klang. Hörbar mit Stimmenbetonung, aber mehr auch nicht. Gitarren haben einen recht kräftigen und spaßigen Charakter und im Zusammenspiel mit dem druckvollen Kick des Basses funktioniert der EDX für Rock noch am besten.

Die Höhen sind recht künstlich und zu stark betont. Sie lassen den EDX etwas blechern und unausgewogen klingen. Von einer guten Auflösung kann man hier nicht reden. Dazu sind sie recht unkontrolliert und machen gefühlt, was sie wollen. Unnatürlich und etwas unrealistisch, aber erträglich.

Die Bühne ist okay, aber eine realistische Aufteilung der musikalischen Informationen findet nur bedingt statt. Etwas durcheinander das Ganze.

Outro

Bei dem Preis des EDX ist das Kabel (auch wenn es an und für sich nichts Besonderes ist) eigentlich noch das größte Value. Der EDX ist etwas schlampig verarbeitet (Spaltmaß) und klanglich keine große Bereicherung. Zugute kann man ihm den ansprechenden Bass halten, welcher sicherlich in dieser Preisklasse eher selten anzutreffen ist, da hier meistens mehr auf Quantität gesetzt wird. Ebenso arbeitet er Stimmen ganz gut heraus, ohne diese aber natürlich abbilden zu können.

Ich werde den EDX nicht schlechter machen als er ist und für manche Handybeilage kann er eine günstige Alternative darstellen, allerdings würde ich lieber ein paar Euro mehr in die Hand nehmen und auf mehr Klangqualität setzen. Für das gelegentliche Hören ohne Anspruch okay, wenn man etwas Toleranz mitbringt, mehr aber auch nicht. Für unter 10€ würde ich wenn zum EZAUDIO D4 greifen.

Intro

7€ do not hurt, but in the case of the EDX it does not make also really happy to have saved money. An IEM that you don't really need and in my opinion it's better to get some more money in your hand, or take a look at the EZAUDIO D4.

Handling

Headphones, cable, and a pair of silicone tips. More is not possible, but also understandable at this price. The cable is useful, but nothing special. However, it does cost a good half of the EDX in purchasing. So you can calculate what the EDX costs in production. That one notices also with the processing, where unevenness and a larger gap dimensions are to be made out. To be honest I am surprised about the very good channel equality in frequency measurement.

The isolation is okay and the wearing comfort even very good.

Sound

The EDX is damn cheap, you shouldn't forget that, but in terms of sound you shouldn't expect too much either.

The bass is the bright spot of the EDX, even if it doesn't always seem stable and sometimes a bit dull. But it has a good punch and assertiveness, without overlaying the signature or piling up. If you look at it separately, you can certainly build a good budget IEM on it, even if the bass does not meet the highest demands in terms of quality.

The mids have one of the greatest tonal variations. Vocals and instruments lack authenticity and often drift off in shrillness. They just don't sound right and are far away from a mature sound. Audible with voice emphasis, but nothing more. Guitars have a pretty powerful and fun character and in combination with the powerful kick of the bass the EDX for Rock works even better.

The trebles are quite artificial and too much emphasized. They make the EDX sound a bit tinny and unbalanced. One cannot speak of a good resolution here. In addition they are quite uncontrolled and do what they want to do. Unnatural and a bit unrealistic, but bearable.

The stage is okay, but a realistic distribution of the musical information is limited. A little bit confused overall.

Outro

At the price of the EDX the cable (even if it is nothing special in itself) is actually the greatest value. The EDX is a little bit sloppy processed (gap size) and the sound is not a big enrichment. The bass is rather good, which is certainly not very common in this price range, since the emphasis is usually on quantity. It also brings out voices quite well without being able to reproduce them naturally.

I will not make the EDX worse than it is and for some cell phone supplements it can be a cheap alternative, but I would rather take a few euros more in my hand and put on more sound quality. For the occasional listening without claim okay, if you bring some tolerance, but nothing more. For under 10€ I would go for the EZAUDIO D4.
