Es ist Frühling. Farbenprächtige Wiesen, helles Vogelzwitschern und grünende Wälder…
Damit soll wohl der SPRING von REECHO in Zusammenarbeit mit PEACOCK AUDIO assoziiert werden.
Nun ja, farbenfroh präsentiert er sich schon einmal und auch der Klang hat etwas erfrischenden. Verantwortlich zeigen sich dafür 2 dynamische und ein balanced armature Treiber. Die Konfiguration ist etwas in Vergessenheit geraten und wäre eher anders herum zu erwarten gewesen. Vor gut zwei, drei Jahren war diese mit dem REVONEXT QT2, YINYOO NY-06, oder BQEYZ KB1 noch der letzte Schrei. Der SPRING hat aber klanglich mit denen wenig gemein und ehrlich gesagt hätte ich beim Hören auch nicht auf einen dual dynamischen Treiber getippt, sondern eher auf zwei Bas.
Handling
Für gute 120 € macht die Verpackung sowie deren Inhalt weitaus teureren Produkten deutlich Konkurrenz. Mir ist dies zwar nicht so wichtig und ich nehme lieber ein schlichtes Design und nur essentielle Beilagen für einen geringeren Preis in Kauf, aber dennoch macht das Auspacken des SPRING wirklich Spaß.
Dieser ähnelt in seiner Bauweise einem Custom-IEM und ist zudem sehr klein und kompakt. Er trägt sich hervorragend und bei der mitgelieferten Tip-Auswahl gibt es auch keine Ausreden, keinen richtigen Sitz und Abdichtung zu erreichen. Für Spinfits hat es zwar nicht mehr gereicht, aber 2 Paar Foamtips und 3 verschiedene Arten an Silikontips in den unterschiedlichsten Größen, bieten eine wirklich große Auswahl.
Dazu kommt ein tolles 8-Kerne-2-Pin-Kabel, welches in Silber und Bronze/Schwarz erhältlich ist.
Garniert wird das Ganze mit einem Kunstleder-Hardcover-Case mit üppigen Platzangebot, Kabelhilfe und Karabinerhaken. CHI-FI-Herz, was willst du mehr.
Jeder SPRING ist farblich ein Unikat. Gemischt werden frühlingshafte Farben (Gelb, Blau, Grün etc.) und heraus kommt eine farbenfrohe Komposition, welche an kreative Batikshirts, oder Pfauenfedern erinnert. Hübsch und dem Thema angemessen, allerdings nichts für jemanden, der es etwas schlichter mag.
Klang
Es wäre albern zu schreiben, der SPRING klingt nach Frühling, aber der Klang hat dennoch etwas erfrischendes. Sehr klar und eher hell, mit einem soliden Bassfundament und groß angelegter Bühne.
Bei zwei dynamischen Treibern, die sich wohl um den Bass und die Mitten kümmern, hätte ich tatsächlich etwas mehr rumpeln erwartet und mehr Quantität. Dem ist aber nicht so. Der Bass hat zwar einen angenehmen Tiefgang, ohne aber einen sonderlich hohen Druck zu entwickeln, ist punchig und straff, sowie texturiert und flott unterwegs. Eher ein untypischer dynamischer Bass, obwohl er eine ansprechende Dynamik aufweist. Dazu bleibt er sehr brav, was die Mitten betrifft und die Signatur wirkt eher aufgeräumt und frisch, anstand warm und drückend. Für mich darf der Bass noch mehr Volumen und kick mitbringen und noch mehr aus der Tiefe agieren, aber er macht das was er soll und das in einer außerordentlichen Qualität, auf die der SPRING mehr setzt als auf Quantität.
Die Mitten sind knackig und bringen eine erfreuliche Energie mit, ohne je harsch, oder unangenehm zu werden. Ich würde den SPRING als recht balanciert beschreiben, mit leichtem Fokus auf die oberen Mitten und Höhen, was den SPRING recht hell klingen lässt, ohne aber ins unnatürliche abzurutschen. Stimmen werden in den Vordergrund gerückt, ohne aber ins Gesicht zu springen. So hab ich es gerne. Die Separation der Instrumente ist ausgezeichnet und Details lassen sich in Hülle und Fülle ausmachen.
Man könnte bei der Signatur des SPRING leicht vermuten, dass es sich beim SPRING Sibilanten ein Thema werden. Nein, ganz und gar nicht, der Bereich wird elegant umkurvt, ohne dass es Beeinträchtigungen in der Auflösung und Wiedergabequalität gibt. Gänzlich ohne kommt der Spring aber auch nicht aus. Ebenso kann es manchmal etwas blechern im Hochton werden und Becken zu sehr herausstechen, was manchmal etwas anstrengend ist, wenn man diese Frequenzen zu sehr auf die Nase gebunden bekommt. Hier trennt sich auch schnell die Spreu vom Weizen, wenn es um die Aufnahmequalität und Abmischung geht. Luftige, detaillierte Höhen, die es in seltenen Fällen auch mal zu gut meinen können und daher nicht komplett ermüdungsfrei agieren.
Ich hab es in Summe lieber etwas wärmer und weicher. Allerdings kann ich dem strafen Bass und den knackigen Mitten vor allem bei Rock, oder akustischen Stücken sehr viel abgewinnen. Stimmen klingen sehr rund und natürlich. Ein bisschen mehr Körper würde gut tun, allerdings kann man den SPRING auch nicht als dünnhäutig beschreiben.
Bemerkenswert ist auf jeden Fall die Bühne und Separation des SPRING.
Outro
Auch wenn natürlich viel Marketing im SPRING steckt, so nehme ich dem SPRING den Frühling klanglich ab. Nicht zu kalt, nicht zu warm, klar und direkt und mit einer „farbenfrohen“ Fülle an Details.
Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass es noch weitere Modelle den Jahreszeiten entsprechen geben wird und ich bin gespannt, wie sich diese dann klanglich präsentieren, auch wenn ich schon eine ungefähre Vorstellung habe. Bis dahin bleibt erstmal den Frühling… eh SPRING zu genießen. Wirklich ein gelungener IEM.

It's vernal. Colourful meadows, bright birdsong and virgin forests...
The SPRING by REECHO in cooperation with PEACOCK AUDIO should be associated with this.
Well, it presents itself already colorful and the sound is also a bit refreshing. Responsible for this are 2 dynamic and one balanced armature driver. The configuration has been somewhat forgotten and would have been expected the other way around. Two or three years ago it was the latest thing with the REVONEXT QT2, YINYOO NY-06, or BQEYZ KB1. But the SPRING has little in common with them in terms of sound, and to be honest, I wouldn't have thought of a dual dynamic driver, but rather of two BA's.
Handling
For a good 120 €, the packaging and its contents clearly compete with far more expensive products. I don't really care about this and prefer a simple design and only essential supplements for a lower price, but unpacking the SPRING is really fun.
It is similar to a custom IEM in its construction and is also very small and compact. It is very comfortable to wear and with the included tip selection there are no excuses for not getting a proper fit and seal. It was not enough for spinfits, but 2 pairs of foamtips and 3 different types of silicone tips in different sizes offer a really big choice.
Plus a great 8-core 2-pin cable, which is available in silver and bronze/black.
The whole thing is garnished with a leatherette hardcover case with ample space, cable help and snap hook. CHI-FI heart, what more do you want.
Each SPRING is unique in colour. Mix springlike colours (yellow, blue, green etc.) and you get a colourful composition, which reminds of creative batik shirts or peacock feathers. Pretty and appropriate to the theme, but not for someone who likes it a bit simpler.
Sound
It would be silly to write that the SPRING sounds like spring, but the sound still has something refreshing about it. Very clear and rather bright, with a solid bass foundation and large stage.
With two dynamic drivers, which probably take care of the bass and the mids, I would actually have expected a bit more rumbling and more quantity. But this is not so. The bass has a pleasant depth, but without developing a particularly high pressure, is punchy and tight, as well as textured and quick on the move. Rather an untypical dynamic bass, although it does have an appealing dynamic. In addition, it remains very well-behaved in the midrange and the signature looks rather tidy and fresh, decently warm and oppressive. For me, the bass is allowed to bring even more volume and kick and to act even more from the deep, but it does what it's supposed to do and that in an extraordinary quality, on which the SPRING puts more emphasis than on quantity.
The mids are crisp and bring a pleasing energy without ever becoming harsh or unpleasant. I would describe the SPRING as quite balanced, with a slight focus on the upper mids and highs, which makes the SPRING sound quite bright, but without slipping into the unnatural. Voices are brought into the foreground, but without jumping into the face. That's the way I like it. The separation of the instruments is excellent and details can be seen in abundance.
One could easily guess from the signature of the SPRING that the Sibilant will become an issue. No, not at all, the area is elegantly curved without any loss of resolution and playability. But the SPRING can't do without it either. Likewise, it can sometimes get a bit tinny in the high frequencies and cymbals stick out too much, which is sometimes a bit exhausting if you get these frequencies too much on your nose. Here the wheat is quickly separated from the chaff when it comes to recording quality and mixing. Airy, detailed highs, which in rare cases can be too good to be true, and therefore do not act completely fatigue-free.
All in all I prefer a little warmer and softer. However, I like the tight bass and the crispy mids, especially in rock or acoustic tracks. Voices sound very round and natural. A bit more body would be good, but you can't describe the SPRING as thin-skinned.
Remarkable is the stage and separation of the SPRING.

Even though there is of course a lot of marketing in the SPRING, I take the sound of spring away from the SPRING. Not too cold, not too warm, clear and direct and with a "colourful" abundance of details.
I can well imagine that there will be other models that correspond to the seasons and I am curious to see how they will sound, even if I already have a rough idea. Until then, you can enjoy the spring-time... eh SPRING. Really a successful IEM.
