Intro
Der KBEAR Hi7 ist ein exemplarisches Beispiel, dass die Anzahl der Treiber nie eine Aussage über die Soundqualität trifft. Der Hi7 ist ein Hybrid, bestehend aus einem dynamischen und 6 BA-Treiber. Wie so eine Konfiguration funktionieren kann, zeigt eindrucksvoll der BGVP DMS. Der Hi7 ist jedoch weit davon entfernt dieses Niveau zu erreichen, da das Tuning hier wohl zur Nebensache wurde. Ich versuche mich hier kurz zu halten, da es wesentlich besseres für das Geld gibt.
Handling
Der Lieferumfang ist bei KBEAR in der Regel recht bescheiden und so auch beim Hi7. Es gibt neben den Silkontips und dem recht brauchbarem MMCX-Kabel noch ein kleines Täschchen zur Aufbewahrung.
Tragekomfort und Isolation liegt in einem guten Bereich. Gerade durch die abgerundete Bauform, eckt der Hi7 nirgends an und passt auch in kleinere Ohren. Mehr gibt’s hier nicht zu sagen.
Klang
Für mich ist die Treiberanzahl des Hi7 verschenkt. Sicherlich sind diese technisch zu weit mehr in der Lage, aber hier wurde versucht Mitten und Höhen künstlich zu sehr aufzubauschen, so dass der Hi7 tonal weit entfernt von natürlich klingt und das Hören zur Toleranzprobe wird.
Der Bass ist noch das Beste am Hi7. Dieser ist wirklich ganz gut gelungen, wenn man auf schnellen, trockenen Bass steht. Er ist mehr im Mittenbass zu Hause und gibt den unteren Mitten genügend Wärme. Er ist nicht scheu, spielt aber auch keine dominante Rolle in der Signatur. Er neigt nicht zu Übersteuerung, allerdings scheint er nicht immer tonal korrekt zu agieren. Manchmal dichtet er der Musik mehr Bass an als nötig und lässt anders herum den Impact missen, wenn er gebraucht wird.
Die Mitten sind etwas strange. Beschränkt man sich nur auf die unteren Mitten, sind diese gar nicht mal so verkehrt, umso höher man jedoch geht, umso unnatürlicher wird es. Gerade um die 2-4 kHz macht der Frequenzgang einen gewaltigen Sprung nach Oben, was Stimmen viel zu aggressiv und ermüdend erscheinen lässt. Ebenso klingen Instrumente zu hell und leicht metallisch. Hier wurde versucht durch Pegelanhebung für Klarheit zu sorgen, was mächtig in die Hose ging.
Die Höhen machen da weiter wo die Mitten aufgehört haben. Sie klingen sehr hell und manchmal unnatürlich metallisch. Hier wird eine Erweiterung suggeriert, die nicht vorhanden ist. Der Peak um die 7-8 kHz macht sie zudem sehr heiß und auf lange Dauer nicht genießbar. Sibilanten und Schärfe sind allgegenwärtig. Allerdings sind sie schon in der Lage Details widerzuspiegeln und bei leiserem Hören, kann man ihnen auch durchaus etwas abgewinnen, wenn die Musik nicht allzu komplex ist.
Die Bühne ist neben dem Bass noch der Lichtblick. Die Separation leidet etwas unter den hochgezüchteten Mitten, da diese zwar recht gut ist, aber man davon nicht viel wahrnimmt, da die Mitten mit ihrer aggressiven Art die volle Aufmerksamkeit abverlangen, ob man will oder nicht.
Outro
Es reicht nicht einfach eine Hand voll Treiber zu nehmen und diese in ein durchaus ansprechendes Gehäuse zu schmeißen. Ohne aufwendiges Tuning kommt dabei selten etwas Gutes heraus. Für dieses Preisschild misst sich der Hi7 automatisch mit Konkurrenten in dieser Range und zieht deutlich den Kürzeren.
Da er technisch gesehen durchaus Potenzial hat und auch recht gut auf einen Equalizer reagiert, könnte man sich den In-Ear noch zurecht biegen, aber das ist meines Erachtens den Aufwand nicht wert, da es bessere (fertige) Alternativen gibt. Vielleicht könnte man sich bei einem Preis unter 50€ darüber noch einmal unterhalten, da ich dann mit einem Equalizer eventuell experimentierfreudiger wäre. Dennoch möchte ich dem Hi7 durch das gegebene Potenzial in der Bewertung nicht all zu Unrecht tun und vielleicht ist er für den ein oder anderen genau das Richtige. Ich habe auch schon ganz gute Höreindrücke zum Hi7 gelesen, die ich jedoch nicht zwingend teile.
Intro
The KBEAR Hi7 is a perfect example of how the number of drivers never says anything about sound quality. The Hi7 is a hybrid consisting of a dynamic and 6 BA drivers. How such a configuration can work is impressively demonstrated by the BGVP DMS. However, the Hi7 is far from reaching this level, as tuning has probably become a minor matter here. I try to keep myself short here, because there are much better options for your money.
Handling
The scope of delivery is usually quite modest with KBEAR and so is the Hi7. Besides the silicone tips and the quite useful MMCX cable, there is also a small bag for storage.
Wearing comfort and isolation are in a good range. Especially due to the rounded design, the Hi7 doesn't corner anywhere and fits even in smaller ears. There is nothing more to say here.
Sound
For me the driver count of the Hi7 is wasted. Surely they are technically capable of much more, but here they tried to artificially inflate mid and high frequencies too much, so that the Hi7 sounds tonally far away from natural and listening becomes a tolerance test.
The bass is still the best part of the Hi7. This is really quite good when you are looking for fast, dry bass. It is more at home in the midrange and gives the lower mids enough warmth. It's not shy, but doesn't play a dominant role in the signature either. It doesn't tend to overdrive, although it doesn't always seem to act tonal correct. Sometimes it adds more bass to the music than necessary and the other way round it misses the impact when needed.
The mids are a bit strange. If you restrict yourself to the lower mids, they aren't that wrong at all, but the higher you go, the more unnatural it gets. Especially around 2-4 kHz the frequency response makes a huge leap up, which makes voices seem much too aggressive and tiring. Also instruments sound too bright and slightly metallic. Here they tried to provide clarity by increasing the level, which was a complete waste of time.
The trebles continue where the mids stopped. They sound very bright and sometimes unnaturally metallic. Here an extension is suggested that is not there. The peak around 7-8 kHz also makes them very hot and not edible for a long time. Sibilants and sharpness are omnipresent. However, they are already able to reflect details and when listening more quietly, you can also get something out of them, if the music is not too complex.
Besides the bass, the stage is still the bright spot. The separation suffers a bit from the high bred mids, as this is quite good, but you don't notice much of it, as the mids with their aggressive nature demand full attention, whether you like it or not.

It's not enough to simply take a handful of drivers and throw them into a quite appealing case. Without extensive tuning, something good rarely comes out of it. For this price tag, the Hi7 automatically measures itself against competitors in this range and clearly gets the short end of the stick. As it has potential from a technical point of view and also reacts quite well to an equalizer, one could still bend the in-ear, but in my opinion this is not worth the effort, as there are better (finished) alternatives. Maybe you could talk about it again at a price below 50€, because then I might be more willing to experiment with an equalizer. Nevertheless, I don't want to do the Hi7 all too wrong with the given potential in the evaluation and maybe it is just the right thing for one or the other. I have also read quite good hearing impressions about the Hi7, but I do not necessarily share them.
